A perspective view of the Bank of England looking over the front to the other buildings behind from William Maitland's The History of London from its foundation by the Romans to the present time. Robert West (fl. 1736-39) was a British printmaker and draughtsman. He worked with William Henry Toms on the series Perspective Views of All the Ancient Churches as well as the views for Maitland's History of London. William Henry Toms (c. 1700-1750) was a British printmaker. He was a student of John Boydell (1719-1804) and he engraved plates for West's 'Perspective Views of All the Ancient Churches' in London and Badeslade's 'Chorographia Britanniæ'. |
