A companion print to Watts and Jukes' A View of Brighthelmstone (See 35373) Francis Jukes (1745 - 1812) was a British engraver and watercolourist. Jukes was a very early specialist in aquatint, a skill which he learnt from Paul Sandby. Simon Watts (1767 - 1787) was a British printmaker and publisher. Condition: Trimmed within platemark, manuscript repair to top left corner of image and sheet, light stain to top centre of image. |
