From 'Views of All the Colleges, Halls and Public Buildings in the University and City of Oxford with descriptions, which point out to strangers all the places and curiosities more particularly deserving of their notice'. This was a volume of 42 views of Oxford which also served as a sophisticated guide book. Henry Slatter (fl. 1860 - 1900) was a bookseller, stationer and printer, whose firm traded at 2 & 3 High Street during the 19th century. He was also the publisher of the Oxford Herald and always used a view of the Radcliffe Camera on his bill-headings, updating it over the years by adding bollards in Radcliffe Square in the 1820's and railings around the Camera in the 1850's.
