A half length portrait of Anne Marie Louise d'Orléans turned to right but looking at the viewer, dressed in a round necked dressed adorned with pearls, jewels in lace, a curtain swagged in the background with a hunting scene in the back ground all in an ornately engraved hexagonal shaped frame with overlapping oak leaves and decorative bosses. Anne Marie Louise d'Orléans, Duchess of Montpensier (May 29, 1627- April 5, 1693) was the oldest daughter of Gaston d'Orléans and his first wife Marie de Bourbon. Anne Marie Louise never married and died childless leaving her fast fortune to her cousin Philippe I, Duc d'Orléans. Balthasar Moncornet (c.1600 - 1668) was a French tapissier, engraver, and publisher, working primarily in France. He was a specialist in ornamental prints. |
