From the German edition of 'Description of an English missionary trip to the southern Pacific Ocean in the years 1796, 1797 and 1798 in the ship Duff' the account of the findings of Captain Wilson and Captain Cook. William Wilson (fl. 1799 - 1820) was a sailor and chief mate on the ship Duff on a missionary voyage to the Southern Pacific Ocean. He is the author of a book on the voyage (published 1799), for which he provided sketches. Condition: Folds as issued. Loss to top left hand corner of sheet repaired, not affecting sheet or image. Light overall toning. |
