A print showing a group of men in the throws of a billiard match. Two gentlemen are playing, one is keeping score whilst five are watching. They are playing with a more conventional cue rather than the mace or spoon push cue that can be seen in the cue racks behind. George Hunt (fl. 1820 - 1845) was a printmaker and publisher. He was an aquatint specialist who worked for others as well as publishing himself or in partnership. Edward F. Lambert (1790 - 1846) was a British artist and printmaker. Condition: Slight miss printing to carpet area in front of table, some toning to sheet. |
