These beautiful engravings consist of interesting views from around Great Britain and Ireland by notable artists from the paintings and drawings of the first masters. Depicting a view of the small harbour looking out to the river Thames. Billingsgate name derives from being the City's original water gate, situated on the north bank of the River Thames between London Bridge and Tower Bridge. Billingsgate was a general street market selling goods such as Coal, Iron, Wine, Salt and Pottery until the 16th Century and officially became a specialist fish market in 1699.
