Georg Tradel, 1530-98 a lawyer and jurist in Augsburg Dominicus Custos, German printmaker, c. 1560 - 1615. Founder of dynasty of engravers in Augsburg. Son of Pieter Baltens de Costere in Antwerp, emigrated as Protestant c.1579 and in Augsburg by 1584 working for the Fugger. Married widow of Bartolomeus Kilian the Elder in 1588. Worked for Archduke Ferdinand of Tyrol at his Innsbruck court 1582-1593 while remaining based in Augsburg. Father of Raphael, David and Jacob Custos and stepfather of Lukas and Wolfgang Kilian.
