Plate No. 30 from Pierre Fouquet Junior's Nieuwe atlas van de voornaamste gebouwen en gezigten der stad Amsterdam, met derzelver beknopte beschryvingen published in Amsterdam between 1760 and 1771. The book featured topographical scenes of the city engraved by Paul van Liender, Simon Fokke, Caspar Philips Jacobsz, C. Bogerts and J. van der Schley. Inscribed beneath image with title in Dutch and French. Simon Fokke (1712 - 1784) was a Dutch engraver and etcher who worked for the Amsterdam book trade. Pierre Fouquet Junior (active 1750 - 1800) was a Dutch painting and print dealer based in Amsterdam. He occasionally published prints. The French painter Jean Baptiste Pierre Le Brun was a business associate. |
