A plate from Reynolds (John):- The Triumph of God's Revenge against the Crying and Execrable Sin of Murder. Folius Ccc3 (pp337-8). The Triumph of God's Revenge was a book of stories, like those where Shakespeare found his plots. Middleton & Rowley found the plot for The Changeling in this collection. First published 1657. Not noted by Hind who notes Payne's engraved title but not these plates nor the new title W Sculpt that appears in this edition. (STC R39097) |
