Notes Joachim Wasserschlebe (1709-87) German - born Danish Legation secretary to the French Court in Paris and collector. His comprehensive collection of print was accquired by King Frederik III of Denmark in his bid to established a Danishp rincely library on a European scale, laying the foundations of Denmark's National Library

Wasserschlebe was accociated with famous artists such as Masse and J. G.Wille and many others, and so he was in an excellent position to build up a splendid collection of graphic works and furthermore is remembered as an intermediary between Danish and French art.
