A depiction of part of the ruins of Kenilworth Castle. Trees and shrubs have grown up inside the building. An elderly shepherd sits heavily with his dog in the right-hand foreground, he watches his sheep in the distance. From a series of prints by Alfred Baker entitled 'The Ruins of Kenilworth Castle'. Alfred Baker (fl. 1822) was a British etcher, painter and draughtsman. Condition: Some paper wear, slight foxing and time toning. Tears to margins. |
