A reverse copy of Leclerc's painting and one of a series of prints illustrating the parable of the The Prodigal Son, in this case The Prodigal Son Departs. Titles in French and German. Johann Jakob Haid (1704-1767) a German engraver and publisher specialising in mezzotint. He was the father of Johann Elias Haid. He studied under Johann Elias Ridinger and George Philipp Rugendas. His own students included Anton Graff and Johann Friedrich Bause. Condition: Some light creasing and verticle fold in centre. |
