Notes François-Marie Arouet (21 November 1694 – 30 May 1778), better known by the pen name Voltaire, was a French Enlightenment writer and philosopher famous for his wit and for his advocacy of civil liberties, including freedom of religion and free trade.

Corbutt was a pseudonym used by the Irish engraver Richard Purcell when plagarising the work of others, usually for the publisher Robert Sayer. Sen's portrait showing the sitter working at his desk in a library had been previously engraved by Richard Houston.
