Issue 1917: 'Men of the Day' No.974 Finley Peter Dunne (10th July 1867 - 24th April 1936) was an American political and social satirist and author, better known by his nom-de-plume, 'Mr. Dooley.' Mr. Dooley's articles in the Chicago Post became a national success, and upon publishing a collection of them under the title 'Mr Dooley in Peace and in War,' Dunne became a prominent literary figure. |
