A detailed map of Persia and its adjoining countries with Armenia. Isaac Tirion (c.1705-c.1769) was born in Utrecht ca. 1705 and came to Amsterdam ca. 1725. He had premises on the Kalverstraat, Amsterdam, and was a member of the board of the booksellers guild. He published numerous atlases throughout his life, but is best known for Hedendaagsche historie and Vaderlandse Historie, both historical reference works that were populated with engravings by leading artists. Condition: Strong impression with full margins. Pressed centre fold as issued. |
