Full title reads: 'The Action near Cape Francois on the 21st of Oct.r 1757 between his Majesty's Ships the Augusta Dreadnought & Edinburgh, under the Command of Capt.n Forrest, and seven French Men of War, when the latter where defeated, and obliged to sheer off in a scattered condition.' An engraving from Russell's "A New and Authentic History of England". Francis Chesham (1749 - 1806) was a British printmaker who specialised in topographical and maritime scenes. Condition: Time toning to edges of the sheet. Tearing from binding to bottom edge of sheet, not affecting image. |
