A well-executed etching after Rembrandt, with a version in the British Museum having previously been attributed to the Old Master. Standing to the right in profile, the man depicted wears Polish attire, and leans on his walking stick with his left hand. A facsimile monogram and date are featured towards the bottom of the plate. Chevalier Ignace Joseph de Claussin (1766 - 1844) was French collector of Rembrandt etchings. He was also an amateur etcher, producing a number of works after Rembrandt.
