The London, Chatham & Dover Railway Company started passenger services between Dover and Calais in 1864 when they took over the fleet of Jenkins & Churchward. The owners formed a working union with the South Eastern Railway in 1899 from which the South Eastern & Chatham Joint Railways Management Committee (usually know as the South Eastern & Chatham Railway) was formed. In 1891 the ship was renamed Prince and in 1899 it was scrapped. Condition: small tear in upper right. |
