Notes |
A lithograph from Carl Rundt's A Walk Round Oxford, a set of 16 lithographed plates interleaved with text in English and German. The set includes several unusual subjects collected into four sets of views with accompanying text done in the manner of a short tour around Oxford. The fact that these prints were published in Berlin contributes to the prints scarcity and they are rarely seen. A blind stamp of the initials CR with an arrow surrounded by a wreath appears on each sheet. Carl Ludwig Rundt (1802-1868) was a German painter and lithographer. Condition: Spots of foxing to the sheet and toning to the edges. |
