Three-quarter length portrait of Victor Emmanuel II in military attire, standing slightly turned to the left, and gazing towards the upper right. In his right hand, he holds a sheet of paper, and rests his left hand on a stick. Victor Emmanuel II (1820 - 1878) was the king of Sardinia from 1849 until 1861, when he then assumed the title of King of Italy. He was the first king of Italy since the 6th century, and he held the title until his death. Ex. Col. House of Savoy Condition: Small amount of surface dirt to margins. |
