Half-length portrait of William Shakespeare, after the Harleian miniature. Looking towards the viewer, and with his torso turned slightly to the right, Shakespeare wears a point ruff and a doublet embellished with darts. The portrait is set within an oval, which is surmounted by a wreath and a scroll inscribed with 'William Shakespeare'. Beneath sits a plinth with a crest.
